5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:5-7

The other day I heard a lady asking for directions. She had pulled it up on her phone and was questioning her friends. One piped up and said, “Oh don’t use Google it takes you way out of the way.”
And another said, “Go this way instead.”
Every person that walked by the ladies were asked if they knew how to get to the address. Some agreed with the Google directions, others had their own suggestions and then many just shrugged.
Unfortunately, just like these ladies trying to find the best way to their destination, many people believe that there are several ways to get to God and Heaven. Some believe that if you are a good enough person, you will go to Heaven. Some do not believe in hell or even heaven. Some believe that volunteer work and being a good citizen of the planet is the shoe in. Even in some of our churches, people are being taught that Jesus is just one of many roads to heaven.
It is human nature to find the path of least resistance and that is the same for our spiritual lives. Facing our sins, examining our hearts, and submitting to Jesus is not easy. It is one of the hardest things to do. However, the Bible makes it plain that without repentance and redemption through Christ, there is only one destination and that is hell. And this is a very contested and unpopular truth. I was talking with someone earlier this week, this individual told me that they did not believe that people will go to hell, that God wouldn’t send people to hell. And strictly speaking they aren’t incorrect. God does not send people to hell, their choice to not accept Jesus is what sends them to hell.
There is nothing you can do on your own to reach God and Heaven. Jesus tells us how we gain access to the Father, “No one comes to the Father except through me.”
You have the opportunity right now to call upon Jesus, repent and accept God’s grace and forgiveness. Don’t let another day pass. There is no promise for tomorrow.
Which way will you choose?

13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matthew 7:13-14
