Deuteronomy 31:8
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Recently, I had a full‑on meltdown — pacing the hall, tearful, overwhelmed. A few months ago, I told the Lord I would write boldly, without fear, and step fully into the calling He placed on my life. I meant it.
We’ve all made declarations like that. Sometimes nothing happens and we wonder if it wasn’t His will. Other times, we speak it out… and the doors start flying open.
This time, it was unmistakably God.
Writing opportunities began opening in places I never imagined.
Guideposts. My book. My weekly Seeds. The conference.
Everywhere I turned, another door stood wide open.
So why the meltdown?
As I planned and prepared, fear suddenly rushed in.
What if I can’t deliver? What if I fail? What if I’m not enough?
But as I paced and prayed, a quiet truth rose up in my spirit:
Fear is not prophecy.
Fear does not predict what will happen.
It is not a sign of things to come.
It is an old, familiar tool of the enemy — flooding us with doubt, shrinking our confidence, and pulling our eyes away from God.
The truth is simple:
God Himself set these opportunities in motion.
He opened the doors.
He equipped me.
He called me.
And that is what I can trust.
If there is something in your life that you know — deep down — God is asking you to do, surrender to it. Step into it. Trust Him to guide you.
Don’t let fear pretend it knows the future.
It doesn’t.
God does.
