1 Peter Chapter 4: 12-13
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
I have heard the phrase many times in my life, “The devil doesn’t bother those he already has.” That has stuck with me, it got me thinking.
As a gamer, I can say that I have played many different games on different consoles; however, one game stands out the most. I played Kingdom Hearts 2 a while ago, and I was stuck on a certain level. While running around, I noticed that there were not any enemies around. That must mean that I was going in the wrong direction, and after finding the correct way to go further into the story more enemies appeared.
This is what happens to us as Christians and as people. When we are living our life for God, we will be tested by the enemy. Hoping for us to fail, but with us living our lives for Jesus and God, we are protected from the enemy.
On the other hand, if you are living your life outside the Will of God and Jesus, the Devil does not need to work as hard to get you, to trip you up. As he already has you where he wants you.
There will always be tests whether you live for God or not, but if you are living for Him, we as Christians, will be tested more.
And I feel like that is a great thought. We are a threat to the Devil, who desperately wants to knock us down, that he sends enemies our way. But if we live our life for The One True God, we will always win in the end.
