🌱A Freedom Worth Remembering

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

Freedom doesn’t always come with fireworks. Sometimes it comes softly, in the quiet places where God meets us. The country celebrates independence with noise and color, but the freedom Jesus gives slips into the hidden corners of our hearts and releases what we’ve been carrying for far too long.

This morning, while I was drinking my coffee, I found myself thinking about today, the 4th of July, Independence Day and what it means to me. For some, it’s simply a holiday, a day for grilling and laughter. But for me, it holds deeper meaning.

We often forget the courage, sacrifice, and loss that so many endured to create this country. It is by no means perfect, and there are still struggles today to live up to the promises of the Declaration of Independence for all. Yet the cost of freedom remains something worth remembering.

I am also reminded that we are free in Christ, free of past pains, guilt, fear, and doubt. As with all freedom, there is a cost, and Jesus paid that with His blood so that we may claim freedom through Him.

Today, as you celebrate our freedom as a country, take time to reflect on the freedom you also enjoy in Jesus.
