The One Bridge That Leads You Home
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” — John 14:6
Driving home today, I crossed the bridge and found myself thinking about how many ways there are to get across the river here in Chattanooga. We have four bridges — all of them will take you to the other side. But only one leads directly from the downtown streets where I work to the place I call home.
The world is full of “bridges” like that. Many paths. Many philosophies. Many promises of truth.
Some lead to false religion.
Some lead to self-made spirituality.
Some lead to nothing at all.
We’re told there are countless options, countless opinions, countless roads. But only one true path home.
Jesus didn’t say, “I am a way.” He said, “I am the way.”
He is the Bridge God provided — the only crossing strong enough to bear the full weight of our sin, our sorrow, and our story.
Because of sin, a deep chasm opened between us and God. A gulf we could never cross on our own. But through Jesus, that divide is no longer a barrier. The bridge has already been laid down.
God made a way for us — a path to salvation, a way home to Him for eternity.
You don’t have to build your own bridge. You don’t have to find your own route. You don’t have to earn your way across.
You simply have to step onto the One who carries you.
