🌱No Peanut Butter Before It’s Time: Learning to Wait on God

“Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come.” — Habakkuk 2:3

I opened a jar of peanut butter at my desk and found only a thin smear left. I tried to reach it. The spoon snapped. The peanut butter stayed where it was.

It was such a small thing, but it reminded me how often I reach for something before its time how often I try to take what isn’t ready to be given.

Waiting has never been easy for me. Maybe it isn’t for you either. Maybe you’ve prayed and hoped and watched, and nothing seems to move. Maybe you’ve wondered if God hears you at all.

But every time I’ve tried to force what I wanted, it has cost me more than waiting ever did.

Rushing ahead of God always leads to regret. Waiting on Him never does.

God hears you. God sees you. And God knows when the time is right.

I tell my daughter this when she grows weary: “You can only see today. But the Lord sees far down the road. If it is truly good, wait on Him. He knows when it’s time.”

And He does.

He is not late. He is not withholding. He is preparing.

Sometimes the blessing is not in the thing itself. Sometimes the blessing is in the waiting that shapes us.

Typist for Jesus

“I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.” — Micah 7:7

If this Seed touched you, share it with someone who needs a reminder to wait on the Lord.
